My doctor can always start you on a smaller dose and after slowly work your way up. I am on 2.5mg, but might have been better for me to start on the 1.25mg in the first months.<br/><br/>

My BP is low end 90-94. It do not rely on doctors to give you all the information, do your own research - know your own meds and their interactions. keep notes and ask questions!<br/><br/>

I taking this Altace 6-7y before these side effects started to show up (like slight headache if forget to take drug, also slight twitch around my left eye and it just got worse)!<br/><br/>

I don't know what does what to me, but it  best combination which I  had to keep me controlled!<br/><br/>

I take 20mg per day with 75mg of toprol. 
I also tried several drugs before finally found a combo of Altace and Toprol that lowered my bp to reasonable range -121/71<br/><br/>
