Southern Home Remedies
Greetings everyone,
There are various ways to try to reduce high blood pressure. In this particular article we will cover how to reduce High Blood Pressure with Southern Home Remedies.
Growing up I watched my mother suffer from High Blood Pressure. It was truly a painful experience for a kid. I watched my mom cry and suffer from bad headaches because her blood pressure would get too high. She was on countless pills and medications and when those ran out it was truly a nightmare for her. However, she seemingly always had a remedy to help her cope with her extreme blood pressure.
Now we will discuss a few of the remedies she used to help her deal with this problem:
1. Using a penny: My mom believed there was magic in using pennies. Whenever her head would begin to throb nonstop she would find a penny and apply it to her forehead. She would also find a quiet room, usually her bedroom and she would turn out all the lights and just lie there in the dark with a penny on her forehead. Somehow, after she'd come out of her room the headache would be gone. She would be back to her normal routine.
2. Candles: My mom would also use scented candles. To relax my mom would use lavendar candles. Somehow the scent would relax her mind. It would seemingly take her mind away from all her troubles. She would also lay in a dark room with her candle lit and maybe she'd play some soft music to relax her mind. It is proven that certain candle fragrances help slow the heart rate.
3. Using Vinegar: When everything seemed to fail, my mom would always get a teaspoon of vinegar. She'd take it after a nice meal. She always told me that if I wanted to find out if I had high blood pressure to drink a bit of vinegar and if the headache left me then there is a good chance I had high blood pressure. I thought she was crazy but if I ever got a headache that teaspoon of vinegar surely came in handy and nearly worked every time.
In closing, the best remedy may not always be what the doctor prescribes for us. It may be something as simple as a home remedy. I am a witness and can truly testify that these remedies actually do work. These are just a few of the home remedies my mom use to help lower her blood pressure when she did not have access to any doctors or medication.
