Low Blood Pressure is also called hypotension and high blood pressure is known as hypertension. Both of these medical conditions are of severe concern because they can lead to other health diseases if not taken care of immediately. When a person has low blood pressure, he or she feels dizzy, fainting, weak or lethargic. He or she wants to lie down immediately as he or she does not have enough energy to do the on hand task.
Following are the major causes of low blood pressure:
1. CHANGE IN BODY POSTURE:
The most common cause of low blood pressure is when we suddenly change our body posture for example from sitting to standing or from lying down to sitting. Nevertheless, this is just temporary and our blood circulation becomes normal after few seconds.
2. UNHEALTHY DIET:
Most of the people get low blood pressure due to their unhealthy eating habits. When you do not eat nutritious food then your blood pressure may lower down because the blood is unable to carry out the required oxygen and nutrients around the body that is why the body fails to function properly.
3. BRAIN INJURY:
There are certain brain injuries that can lower the blood pressure. The blood pressure throughout our body is controlled by autonomic nervous system, when this system works abnormally then blood pressure decreases. Certain diseases that harm our nerves can also cause decrease blood pressure.
4. DEHYDRATION:
Water and fluid intake is very important for us because thins our blood and helps in proper regulation. An average person should drink from eight to twelve glasses of water in a day. However, many times people forget to drink water and suffer from a condition called dehydration, loss of water in the body. The loss of water from the body for example, diarrhea or excessive sweating can also cause dehydration. This causes the blood to get thick and slow down.
5. HARMFUL MEDICATION:
When we take a medicine and it does not suit our present body condition then it makes our heartbeat irregular which results in lower blood pressure.
6. ENDOCRINE PROBLEMS:
Those individuals who suffer from thyroid problems usually experience low blood pressure. The hypoglycemia or the insufficiency of adrenal hormone causes this condition.
7. PREGNANCY:
Pregnancy can cause low blood pressure in women because the baby inside the womb keeps growing by extracting the nutrients from the mother. If the mother do not take proper diet then she can suffer from this condition.
